The city of Klagenfurt has an urban development plan for the year 2035 in which mobility and sustainability in the built environment play a primary role. This proposal aims to offer an overview about the main topics and rules that must guide any design ambitioning to be built on this brownfield located in Klagenfurt. Said so, following, you will find a brief description of some of the key parameters that must be taken into account when judging the suitability of a project apart from aesthetics. These will ensure the sustainable development and operation of the project site for the years to come.
PURPOSE: In this context, a series of plots located on the limits between the historic center and the metropolitan area of the city, dedicated to industrial, community and residential uses, are selected to become a new city center that will function, clearly , as a gateway to the capital from the railway station that in the near future will host the high-speed rail connection that will connect the region with the rest of the country and other neighboring EU members.
